How can I pay for my bets?
Funds must be deposited to your Betchoice.com account before you can place a bet. There are several methods of payment.
CREDIT CARD - To pay by credit card click the BANKING button on the menu bar then choose Deposit By Credit Card from the droplist . Once you have made a credit card deposit there is no need to re-enter your card details for future deposits unless your card expires. If you use more than one card to deposit, all your cards will appear in a drop list on the deposit page and you simply need to choose which card you wish to use. We do not charge any credit card fees.
CHEQUES - We accept funds paid electronically only. Please do not send cheques, money orders or overseas drafts.
FUNDS TRANSFERS - You can pay by EFT (electronic funds transfer). You will need to do this by using your banks website. After depositing please go to the Deposit By EFT section in the banking options and notify us of your deposit. Please do not deposit funds over the counter at your bank.
BPAY - We now have BPay facilities. Our biller code is 120493. You can find your BPay reference number on the front of your Betchoice ID card or in the Deposit By BPay section in the Banking options. Please go to this section after BPaying to notify us that you have BPayed funds to us.
CASH - We do not accept cash payments.
Are my personal and transaction history details secure?
Betchoice.com takes all reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We only collect personal information for the purposes of identifying you for your own security, and maintaining your account. We will not disclose any personal information about you without your consent unless such disclosure (a) Is required by law (b) Is necessary to provide you with a service you have requested. (c) Is necessary to comply with a judicial process or law enforcement agency. (d) Is necessary to protect the rights or property of Betchoice.com, this website or its users. (e) Is necessary to lessen or prevent unlawful activity or threats to an individual's health or safety.
How do I get paid if I win?
You winnings will remain in your Betchoice.com account until you request payment. You can do this from the BANKING section of the website. We can either put the funds into a nominated bank account, or if you bet by credit card we can put the funds back into your card. Please note that electronic funds transfers or overseas drafts to non-Australian clients will incur a $22 fee. This is applied by the bank not Betchoice.com.
Is my money safe with Betchoice.com?
Betchoice.com is fully licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Department Of Racing, Gaming and Licensing. Colin Tidy has been licensed by the Australian Jockey Club (AJC) and Sydney Turf Club (STC) for over 30 years.
What are the minimum and maximum bet limits?
Betchoice.com currently applies a minimum bet limit of $1 for internet transactions and $20 for phone transactions. Maximum bet limits will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the type of event and betting trends on the event. Betchoice.com will attempt to satisfy all bet requests but may be obliged to partially accept or reject bet requests in some instances.
What hours do you operate?
Net betting will operate 24 hours, seven days a week. Phone betting operates from 10am to 10:30pm seven days on 137868 (13PUNT). Phone enquiries (tech support, banking enquiries etc.) can be made from 9am to 5pm seven days on 1300 246 673 (1300 CHOOSE).
Are the odds of my bet fixed?
All bets placed using this website are at fixed odds with the exception of top fluctuation bets and tote based bets e.g. Best Tote, Middle Tote, Tote+10% and Tote+5% etc.
What sporting events can I bet on?
The selection of sporting events (and the forms of betting applicable) upon which Betchoice.com will operate, is limited to any or all of those events prescribed by the Northern Territory Department Of Racing, Gaming and Licensing.
Where are you located?
Betchoice.com currently has two offices. Our administration office is located Northwest of Sydney at Baulkham Hills, and our call centre is located at Darwin racecourse in the Northern Territory.
Can I bet by other means than the internet?
We do accept telephone bets, but please note that the minimum for phone bets is $20. Also note that we operate limited hours only for phone betting of 10am to 10:30pm Sydney time. To see our operating hours click on "Hours" on the menu bar.
Can I change my password, credit card or personal details?
For changes to any personal details, including your password, you must log on and then click on "Account" in the menu bar. Any changes are recorded by Betchoice.com prior to acceptance. Any changes to credit card details can be completed by clicking on the "Banking" button, then the "Credit Card Deposit" button, recording the new card details and submitting the changes.
Why won't the system allow me to bet after I have logged in?
If the system allows you to log in, but asks you to log in again when you attempt to place bets, it is probable that your computer does not "allow cookies". You must allow cookies in your browser to use the Betchoice.com site.
Forgotten your Password or ID?
If you have forgotten your password you can simply click on the Forgotten Password link under the login box and follow the steps to retrieve your password. If you have forgotten your ID number as well you will need to contact Betchoice.com and satisfy certain security measures before we can supply your number. Email us or call us 1300 246 673 (That's 1300 CHOOSE on your phone keypad) to have us help you retrieve your lost details.
What happens if one of the horses I back is scratched?
If you have backed it for a win, place or each-way prior to the final acceptance time, your bet is lost. If the bet was placed after final acceptance time your bet will be refunded but deductions may be applied to remaining live bets. If you have backed a scratching in a double, your money is lost if the bet was placed prior to both legs being at final acceptance stage. If the bet was placed after both legs were at final acceptance stage then your stake will be put on the remaining live leg, but deductions may be applied to remaining live doubles.
What races can I bet on?
Betchoice.com will endeavour to operate on all TAB gallop, harness and greyhound meetings. We will also operate pre-post on nearly all black type races. The period of time we operate prior to final field is dependant on the nomination closing date. Most weekend black type races will be available to bet on by 10am Friday. Group 1 races such as the Golden Slipper, Doncaster, Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup will be available several months in advance.
