Important Notes
- Prices are displayed as dividends for $1, meaning that the price includes your stake - e.g. if you have a successful $10 bet at a dividend of $17 you will win $160 with a total collect of $170.
- Submitting the bet does not necessarily mean you have successfully placed a bet. You have merely requested the bet and we will return one of three possible messages as listed below.
- "Bet Accepted". Meaning we have accepted the bet exactly as submitted.
- "Bet Partially Accepted". Meaning we have not accepted the full amount of the bet. The amount of the bet accepted will be displayed with this message.
- "Bet Rejected". We have rejected the bet entirely. A reason for this rejection will be displayed with this message e.g. "Event has begun." or "Price has changed". - Please note that all bets are answered in the order they are received, so please bet early to avoid disappointment.
- Bet requests placed outside office hours on events which are not due to be finalised before the office re-opens may not be answered until the following morning.
Before you can bet
- Before you can begin betting with Betchoice.com you must have a User ID number, a password, and funds in your account. To receive your User ID and to establish your password with us, click on the JOIN button located on the menu bar to open the application form. Fill in the necessary information and click on the SUBMIT FORM button submit this form. You will receive a message from us in a few seconds giving you your ID number.
- To deposit funds into your account you must first log on. After logging on, click on BANKING on the menu bar to bring up the banking options in the centre frame and choose CREDIT CARD DEPOSIT to make a deposit. Funds from credit card deposits will be available as soon as you receive the approval message from us. This will normally be within a few seconds after depositing. The BANK DEPOSIT option does not actually transfer the funds from your account to ours, it is simply to notify us that you have made a bank deposit. Please note that funds deposited directly into our bank account will not be available until the next working day.
To place a sports bet
- The sports available for wagering will be displayed in the left menu under the sports tab. Move your cursor over the sport you are interested in and a second level menu will appear from the sport menu with the events you can bet on. After clicking on your chosen event the betting options will appear in the centre frame. Prices are expressed as dollar dividends and by default are sorted in ascending order of dividend. You may also sort alphabetically by competitor by clicking on the word "Name".
- To bet, simply click on the dividend or handicap associated with your desired selection - e.g. if you wish to back the Panthers at $1.50 to win, simply click on "$1.50". If you wish to back the Panthers at -8 1/2 points, simply click on "-8 1/2". Your selection will appear in the betting coupon on the right-hand side. If you wish to take a "multi-bet", simply keep clicking on more selections and these will will be added to the betting coupon as multi-legs. If you want to remove one of bet legs click on "Remove" in that leg.
- Enter the amount you wish to bet (minimum of $1) in this coupon and click on "Request Bet". The stake should be entered in whole dollars only. You will be prompted to confirm your bet. Click on "Bet Now" if satisfied with your bet request or "Clear" to return to the list of prices. In most instances approval is processed within seconds, and a "Bet Accepted" message is displayed on your screen. If you log off prior to receiving your approval, the message will appear next time you log on.
How to make a win, place or each-way racing bet
- The races available for wagering will be displayed in the left menu under the racing tab. Each meeting available will be listed under one of the three racing codes of Thoroughbred, Harness and Greyhounds. Click on the meeting you wish to bet in and it will appear in the centre frame with the next race to go as the default. You can choose other races from that meeting by clicking on the race numbers at the top of the page, or you can display all the races for that meeting in one screen by clicking on "Multis". Prices are expressed as dollar dividends, and by default are sorted in saddlecloth number. You may also sort alphabetically by horse by clicking on the word "Horse Name" or by horse number by clicking on "No.".
- To place a bet click on the dividend alongside the runner you wish to back. Your selection will appear in the betting coupon on the right-hand side.
- Enter the amount you wish to bet (minimum of $1) in this coupon and click on "Request Bet". The stake should be entered in whole dollars only. You will be prompted to confirm your bet. Click on "Bet Now" if satisfied with your bet request or "Clear" to return to the list of prices. - Larger bets may be partially accepted or rejected depending on the nature of the event and betting trends. If partially accepted, a message of "Bet Partially Accepted" is displayed together with the amount of the bet accepted. If the bet is rejected, a message of "Bet Rejected" appears together with an explanation for the rejection. If you log off prior to receiving your approval, the message will appear next time you log on.
How to make a feature doubles bet on horse racing
- The races available for wagering will be displayed in the left menu under the Horses tab. Move your cursor over the race you are interested in and a second level menu will appear from the race menu displaying a list of doubles available that invole that race. Click on the double you wish to bet on and it will appear in the centre frame. This will bring up a grid in the centre of the website.
- The horses listed down the left-hand side of the grid are the top ten remaining entries in betting order for the first leg of the double. The horses listed across the top of the grid are the top ten remaining entries for the second leg of the double in betting order.
- To place a bet on any combination displayed simply click on the dividend in square at the intersection your first leg selection and your second leg selection. Your selection will appear in the betting coupon on the right-hand side.
- Enter the amount you wish to bet (minimum of $1) in this coupon and click on "Request Bet". The stake should be entered in whole dollars only. You will be prompted to confirm your bet. Click on "Bet Now" if satisfied with your bet request or "Clear" to return to the list of prices. In most instances approval is processed within seconds, and a "Bet Accepted" message is displayed on your screen.

- If either or both of the horses you wish to back are not in the grid shown then click on the "Click Here To List All Horses" link above the grid to bring up the lists of all horses in each leg. Click in the tick boxes next to the horses you wish to include in your new grid and then click on the "Click Here After Selecting Horses" button. This will create your own grid to bet from.
- If you create your own grid you will see a message at the bottom of the grid saying "Back every double above for". You can use this feature to back all combinations in your grid for the same amount simultaneously. Alternately you can choose the "Back every double above to win" option to back all combinations in your grid simultaneously to win a certain amount.
- To place a bet on just one combination (from the original or your own grid) click on the dividend in square at the intersection your first leg selection and your second leg selection. A betting coupon will appear at the top of the screen showing your selections and the dividend.
- Enter the amount you wish to bet (minimum of $1) in this coupon and click on BET NOW. You will be prompted to confirm your bet. If you click OK your bet will be submitted to BetChoice and cannot be cancelled or altered by you.
- You will receive a reply to your requested bet, usually within 60 seconds. If you log off during this process you will receive a reply next time you log in.
